Your name is what?!!!!!

Finding a name for a very special gift is a challenging thing to do. We do have an idea of what we want for a first name. And, No, it isn't going to be Madi #2. we haven't decided if we want to share the name yet. Although, if you were to come to our house we have a name sign made for her up on our refrigerator. This also let's us change our minds if we want. We are now on a search for a special middle name. I think it is important to think of a name that is from our history or a name that has a special meaning. We would love to read your comments. I am aware that it is hard to match a middle name without knowing the first but it makes it interesting. In your comments please post the name and why you think it is a good choice. Here are a few examples. Oh, and by the way, just as a disclaimer we reserve the right to deny any choice!!!!!!!!! We love you all and look forward to having some fun with this! Here are some that we as a family have come up with...
Ariel..because Madi loves the little mermaid.
Halle...after Joe's grandfather that passed away.
Loren...my dad's middle name.
Desirae...my middle name.
Adrienne...not such a great middle name but I had to put it in there.
Kate...Joe and I just like the name. And Joe thinks Kate from Lost is hot!!!
Keri, Kari or Carrie...The first, Joe's sister. The second, Joe's HS girlfriend. The third, Underwood, Joe has a huge crush. If any of you vote for this name you will be disowned by Adrienne.
Sofia or Sophie...I love Sofia from Sweden.

Can't wait to see your comments.

Who Has Who for Christmas?

Urvina Family 2007
Madi and Gavin drew names for Christmas presents, I am not sure what happened in Movie Maker but the video quality is not so hot...........

Gavin is a Big Boy!!

We have officially entered the wonderful world of potty training!!! Last Saturday was an eventful day. We got through the day with only a few accidents. Although, Gavin found his last years Halloween costume which is a dalmation dog costume. He wouldn't take it off for 2 days. Yes, it is harder to potty train a 2 year old wearing a dog costume. He freaked whenever we had to take it off. And we had to wash it twice that day. Anyway, yesterday was our first successful day. No accidents and he had to use two public restrooms. The best part of all, he woke up dry this morning and told me that he had to go potty. I still have my fingers crossed. I know that we are not out of the woods yet with this. I am just so proud of him. Sorry, no pics for this post ;)!!!

It's going to be a Girl!

Here is our little Princess!
Here are some Ultrasound Pictures of our little girl.
Those are her little feet.

Well, as some of you know we were sent to a Perinatalogist for Adrienne's ultrasound. Yes, I now know how to spell Perinatalogist. I still am not sure what they do. Apparently they are really good at reading ultrasounds. The doctors were worried due to some blood test results, so we were referred to the Perinatalogist. During the "special" ultrasound Ade announced before the doctor did that it was a girl. Of course in my head I was saying look again, one more try, come on. He then stopped to show us how he came to the conclusion and I conceded. After the 45 minute ultrasound that showed our little girl was developing perfectly, we were told that all the concern was due to a 3.8% chance that our little girl may have Down syndrome. With me as her father she has much bigger problems than a 3.8% chance of Down syndrome. The "genetic counselor" (that is not covered by any insurance) told us that we could go through a slew of tests to find out, including a amniocentesis. The "genetic counselor" told us that everything from the "special" ultrasound looked great. We were informed that even if she was positive for Down syndrome they wouldn't be able to do anything to help her. Since we plan on loving her and keeping her even if she isn't perfect we politely turned down any further testing and went to Red Robin to celebrate our new little princess.

Madi lost her first tooth!

Well Madi has had her fair share of firsts lately. Today she pulled out her first tooth, and won't stop talking about the tooth fairy. It'll be interesting to see what a tooth goes for these days.

Madi's Fashion

This is our sweet little Madi. As you can see she is dressed cute. This is what she chose to wear after coming home from church. The funny thing about it, is that she is wearing a pair of Gavin's pants!!!! She thought that they were her capris. I am still laughing about it. I say why not if you can. We love our Madi!

Madi and Gavin getting a head start on driving lessons.

Madi was so happy to get a purple car with the number 5 on it.

Happy is Good!!!

The Rodeo!!!

This was Joe's first and last rodeo experience. It was a fun time but we lasted only about an hour. Adrienne is allergic and sneezed the entire time. Madi thought it was absolutely fabulous. She loved all the horses. This was a Pro Rodeo tour and we had great seats. So if this couldn't satisfy Joe then I don't know what it would take!!!

Madi's First Day of School

The big 1st day of kindergarten arrived today with much anticipation. Madilynn started school at Pioneer Valley Elementary School. She has had her My Little Pony backpack ready to go for weeks now. As you can see they require uniforms at her school. I think it is so cute. We had fun getting her ready for the big day. We live close to the school so there is no bus route. We will be walking and driving. This can be good and bad. I haven't decided yet!!!!

Gavin loves his big sister and missed her so much today while she was gone. It was great mom and Gavin time. Although he was so ready to go pick her up today so they could play again.

A quick picture to send to daddy. Our little girl is growing up!

A Day at Dash Point

Labor Day 2007
It was hard to keep Madi out of the water.
Gavin on the other hand was a little more cautious.

But once he got in he had a great time splashing.

Madi is never one to shy away from a camera.

Umm, yeah, he is smelling some drift wood.......

We spent Labor Day this year at Dash Point State Park in Federal Way. We had a great time getting dirty! We were able to wade in the water, build sand castles, get Mom dirty, find some seashells and have a great afternoon. I hope you enjoy the pictures of our fun day. Yes, Adrienne was there, she enjoyed a peaceful day watching while I tried to keep up with the kids.
