Urvina Christmas 2007

A fun Christmas for Madi and Gavin. Christmas Eve we went to a party at the VanderHoeven's home. We ate good food, visited, sang Silent night, and participated in a wacky white elephant exchange. We did end up with 3 sets of "flashy" Christmas ornaments. We came home and the kids were able to open up one present from mom and dad. Christmas pajamas are a fun tradition at our home. Gav was so excited he was being Spider man. And of course Madilynn our little princess.
I think the best part of Christmas is seeing your children's reactions when they open their presents. Madi and Gavin came downstairs on Christmas morning and were so excited to see the gifts that Santa had brought them. Madi received a 3 foot tall Barbie. She thinks it is so fun to carry her around and dance with her.

Gavin has been asking for a gun for over a month. Every time we went to the store he would ask for a gun. It got a little monotonous. Anyway, we kept reassuring him that Santa did know what he wanted for Christmas. The best part is that when he saw his big gun first thing that morning he became so focused on it that he didn't want to open anything else. After about 30 minutes we finally convinced him that he had other gifts to open. He had a great time then as well.

We sold all of Joe's video games and systems, all except for his Nintendo Wii of course. He was sad to see some of his favorite games go. Santa is very clever and got him a Wii game. He was pleasantly surprised.

We did enjoy a wonderful Christmas. I am glad to have my family to share this with. We are very blessed. We hope that you too enjoyed your holiday.

I am very relieved to have it over. Now all I have for the next 4 weeks agenda is: New Years, Gavin and Madilynn's birthdays, and a baby coming. Wish me luck!
