Anni and her adorable ears

We took little Annika in to Tacoma at the Mary Bridge Children's Health Center last Friday. We go there every few months to check up on her hearing. She has gone from moderate hearing loss to mild and now we are back up to moderate again. The audiologist believes there is some fluid and congestion in her inner ear. So this means that she is able to hear about 40 decibels in one ear and 60 decibels in her other. She is not able to hear the lower tones and whispers. I think this is why she is not doing a lot of babbling. So we have a referral for an Ear Nose and Throat doctor in Puyallup. Most likely she will get some tubes in her ears. Hopefully, that will clear up the congestion. Then we will go from there. Maybe some hearing aids or something for short term help. We just want her to have the best advantage for speaking and having clear communication for the future. We are also on a waiting list for Speech Therapy. We are so blessed that these are such mild things to deal with. We are so grateful for our little Annika.

I'm glad you're getting a head start on Annika's hearing. You're an awesome mom and for every bit as blessed as you are to have her, Annika is blessed to have you as her mom.
